Yellow Screen

Display a solid yellow screen online in fullscreen or choose a custom shade with the color picker or HEX input. Free, simple, and browser-based.

Before you open: Use a comfortable device brightness. Keep static patterns brief, especially on OLED or plasma displays. This page does not prevent or repair burn-in. Stop if the light feels uncomfortable.

How to use the yellow screen

  1. Set your device to a comfortable brightness and choose Open fullscreen. Move the window to the monitor you want to view first.
  2. Use Hide controls for an uninterrupted field. Move the pointer, tap, or press a key to reveal the controls again. Use the named color buttons or arrow keys to switch colors.
  3. Select Close screen or press Escape to leave. If your browser refuses fullscreen, the field stays usable inside the window; browser bars may remain visible.

Choose your own shade with Custom color, or enter a three- or six-digit HEX value and select Apply color. The preview and fullscreen field update together. Switch back to a named preset using the fullscreen color buttons.

A yellow screen you choose to display

Use this page for a plain yellow background, a visual reference, or a plain background in a presentation. This is intentional yellow content. It is different from a white screen that unexpectedly looks yellow because of night-light filters, display settings, reflections, or hardware. Compare the white screen if that is the question you have.

Yellow combines red and green

The default RGB value 255, 255, 0 requests red and green together with no blue component. It offers another field for comparing a suspect point after checking the primary colors. A point or patch on yellow alone does not reveal its cause. Use the RGB and dead pixel tests to investigate channel behavior more systematically.

Backgrounds and simple ambient light

A yellow display can add colored light to a nearby scene, but its intensity and appearance depend on the panel, settings, and distance. It is not a calibrated lamp or a treatment for eye strain. Keep device brightness comfortable and avoid leaving a high-output static field on OLED or plasma screens for long periods.

What this color field cannot measure

The page requests #FFFF00 (RGB 255, 255, 0). Browser color handling, device settings, ambient light, and the panel affect what you see. A uniform field is a visual aid; it cannot measure color accuracy, luminance, contrast ratio, gamut coverage, or physical response time. Screenshots cannot document a physical pixel defect; a photo can record a location, but its exposure is not a measurement.

On phones and tablets, fullscreen availability varies by browser and device. The window fallback remains usable, but cannot remove system bars or cover an area reserved by the operating system. Use the larger preview for a plain background, and a focused test for a specific display question.

Frequently asked questions

Will this fix a screen that has turned yellow?

No. This tool intentionally displays yellow. To compare unwanted tint, open the white screen and check night-light settings, picture modes, and reflections. It does not diagnose hardware.

What is the yellow screen’s RGB value?

It uses #FFFF00, or RGB 255, 255, 0. Different displays can render this digital value differently.

Can I choose a custom color instead of yellow?

Yes. Use Custom color to choose a shade, or enter a three- or six-digit HEX value and select Apply color. The preview and fullscreen field use the selected color. The named preset remains available in the fullscreen controls.
